Did you know 75% of adults are chronically dehydrated! Dehydration causes fatigue. If you feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated. Dehydration can cause foggy memory and irritability. Being adequately hydrated can boost your metabolism and flush out toxins. Dehydration is a
common risk factor for developing kidney stones. Other signs and symptoms of dehydration can include headache, dry skin, feeling dizzy, rapid heartbeat, rapid breathing, sleepiness, lack of energy, confusion, and fainting! If you were to go to the ER with one of the above symptoms, one of the first things the ER will do is start an IV and give IV fluids. Save yourself an ER visit and stay hydrated!
At Fluid IV Drip Lounge, we have formulations for immune boosting, PMS, headache and hangover, athletic recovery, fat burning, and weight loss to name a few.
IV Therapy – what is it, and why should you get it?
IV therapy was started in an outpatient setting by Dr. John Myers over fifty years ago and was later made popular by Dr. Alan Gaby. Dr. Myers realized that by directly infusing vitamins and minerals into the bloodstream, this showed the improvement of one’s health and wellbeing
almost immediately. A Myers cocktail, named after the late Dr. John Myers, is defined as a scientifically proven and formulation of medical-grade vitamins and minerals, infused directly in the bloodstream via intravenous (IV) catheter.
From the Myers cocktail, IV therapy was born! It has been said that two-thirds of all meals are eaten outside of the home, and this includes fast food meals. This means many are not receiving adequate nutrition that is needed. Even those with proper nutrition and healthy eating habits, it is still difficult to ingest the right nutrients for many reasons – your body may
not be absorbing, anyone suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), food modifications, etc. Even if you take a multivitamin or supplements, your body may not be absorbing what you need.
The Benefits of IV Therapy
What goes into our drips? How does our body use these vitamins and minerals?
Myers Cocktail includes Magnesium, Vitamin C, Calcium, and Vitamin B complex (B1, B2, B3, B5,
B6, and B12). Magnesium prevents inflammation and supports a healthy immune system, also
good for treating asthma and migraines. Calcium promotes strong bones. B complex promotes
healthy hair and skin and can act as an anti-stress. Vitamin C works as an antioxidant. side note – we often hear antioxidant, but what is it?? An antioxidant is a substance that prevents or slows damage to cells. This damage can be caused from environmental factors and / or free radicals. Free radicals have been linked to causing illness, disease and aging
The Immunity includes Vitamin C, Zinc, and the B Vitamins – It has long since been proven that Vitamin C and Zinc can help boost the immune system. Vitamin C works as an antioxidant and helps to fight cancer (more on this later). Zinc helps the body to fight off invading bacteria and
viruses. Vitamin B complex helps prevent infections and helps support or promote cell health.
Alleviate for PMS includes calcium, magnesium and the Vitamin B complex – to decrease irritability associated with PMS, B vitamins to provide energy and convert food into energy, and magnesium to improve blood flow and acts as a smooth muscle relaxant to decrease menstrual
cramps.
Athletic Recovery includes Vitamin C, Amino acids, Zinc, and Vitamin B complex. This combination helps to decrease recovery time and enhance performance. Amino acids help to improve blood flow throughout the body, helping to maintain heart and blood vessel health in the circulatory system
Inner Beauty includes Vitamin B complex, Biotin, and Vitamin C to fight acne, wrinkles, and tired-looking skin from the inside out. Biotin is a vitamin that helps maintain muscles, bones, immune support and the circulatory system along with Vitamin C.
Get up and Go includes Vitamin B12, B complex vitamins, and amino acids to help burn fat, feel energized, and boost your metabolism. This drip is recommended to help jump start your weight loss journey and is recommended as adjunct therapy with a once-weekly injection of the
Skinny Shot.
Quench is described as Gatorade for your veins – this includes electrolytes, Vitamin C and Vitamin B complex to hydrate and combat fatigue from dehydration. Electrolytes are essential to the proper function of muscles and maintaining the pH balance of your blood.
What is Glutathione? Glutathione is an essential antioxidant (remember what this is?) that is naturally made in our bodies and is a universal toxin – binder, meaning it works at all levels in
our body to improve immune function, improve hormone levels, and is especially important for cell function, and protection from free radical damage. As people age, or with any type of chronic illness, glutathione levels decrease. Maintaining adequate glutathione levels is critical
for wellness and aiding in the recovery process. Glutathione can be given in the IV as an adjunct therapy to any of the IV drips. It can also be given as a shot. *Note must be made that because glutathione is ridding the body of toxins and pulling toxins from the cells, it is possible that you may feel worse the day after your injection. It is important to drink plenty of fluids to help rid your body of toxins and you should feel better by the following day so do not be alarmed (this is actually a good thing!)
Now a word about Vitamin C. As previously stated, Vitamin C is an antioxidant. Over the counter supplements containing Vitamin C may contain up to 1000 mg. High doses of Vitamin C, doses between 25,000 – 100,000 mg have been linked to fighting cancer cells and treating
sepsis! For anyone undergoing chemotherapy, as a Nurse Practitioner, I can work with your oncologist for a treatment plan to include this IV therapy as adjunctive therapy to help you fight cancer. Not only Vitamin C therapy, but IV therapy has also been shown to help decrease fatigue and nausea related to chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Vitamin C is also being studied and can be linked to treating fibromyalgia, Shingles, Lyme, arthritis, pain after an injury, and is a strong anti-inflammatory to name a few.
